What is a krewe?
A krewe is a special group that is organized specifically for the Mardi Gras event. Some of these clubs are all children, all men, all women, or mixed gender. All of them promote camaraderie and friendship leading up to the grand event that is Mardi Gras. A well-known krewe in Lafayette is the Krewe of Triton.
